On Wednesday, April 20, 2016, Family Guidance Center will honor Stacy Mattia with its annual Mary Jo Codey Award.  This award, named in honor of the former First Lady of New Jersey, recognizes a member of the community who steadfastly advocates for the rights of individuals challenged by a variety of personal and/or family problems.

Family Guidance Center will honor Stacy at its annual fundraiser on April 20th from 6-9 pm at the Corporate Campus of Janssen Pharmaceuticals. This event will also feature legendary Blues Harp player Steve Guyger and the Excellos, dinner a silent auction and a wine arbor. Tickets and sponsorships are available.  For more information, please call 609-586-0668

“Stacy and her husband, Mike, have been volunteers, advocates and supporters of Family Guidance Center for years” stated Jeff Robbins, Executive Director.  When asked about the importance of volunteering, Stacy noted she was “brought up to believe that every single human being deserves dignity and respect, and that each person has a civic responsibility to make their community a better place”.

Stacy’s volunteerism includes serving as the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce, and as a Trustee of the Meta and William Griffith Foundation.  In the past, she has also volunteered her time with Eden Autism Services, the American Heart Association, Special Olympics NJ and Thomas Edison State College.    In 2015, Stacy was recognized by the Girl Scouts with the Women of Distinction Award.
